Two Upon Two Viols, a demo concert

Viol players Lucy Bardo and Marie Dalby will perform at the Kellogg Music Center on March 16 at 3 p.m.

Bardo, Collegium Director at Simon's Rock, and Marie Dalby formed the duo Two For Two Viols in 2006 in order to explore the rich repertoire of the l7th and 18th centuries for two bass viols. They will perform music of Sainte-Colombe, Johannes Schenck and Daniel Pinkham, as well as pieces from 17th century England, and will be joined by members of the Simon's Rock Collegium in a Pavan by Anthony Holborne.

Bardo and Dalby will discuss the music and their instruments and talk about how viol playing became an important part of their lives. The concert will be free and open to the public.
